Easter Kansas City Style: 
Easter is one of Kansas City's favorite ways to ring in Spring with warm weather (most years!) and blooms galore. From Easter Parades and breakfast with the Easter Bunny, to doggie Easter "Begg" Hunts and fabulous feasts, Kansas City has a great many things to do...so get hoppin' to one of these great Kansas City Easter events.

 

Easter Parade at the Zona Rosa: 
Kansas City's longest standing tradition has moved from the Plaza to the Northland's Zona Rosa. Put on your best Easter duds and take part in their First Annual Easter Parade, Saturday, April 15th at 11am. Be sure and stick around for fun family activities and giveaways on Town Square and in the Food Gardens after the parade. Zona Rosa is awarding gift certificates and prizes, including a $1,000 gift certificate to Zona Rosa for the most outstanding parade going family!

Powell Gardens: 
Hop over to Powell Gardens for Breakfast With the Easter Bunny on April 8th and 15th from 8:30-10 a.m. Breakfast is $2.95 for children under 5; $5.95 for ages 5 and above. Call for reservations. They also host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on April 15th for children ages 10 and under. The cost is $5 per child; adults pay regular Garden admission. On, Easter Sunday, Cafe Thyme also has lovely Easter Brunch from 11am-2pm.

 

Easter Eggstravaganza at the Kansas City Zoo: 
Head to the Kansas City Zoo on Saturday, April 15th at 10am where kids 12 and under will enjoy a day of filled with an egg scramble Easter egg hunt, dancing, singing, games, and prizes all provided by Radio Disney 1190 AM. Don't be late--the hunt starts promptly at 10am, be sure to bring your own Easter basket or bag. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand to take pictures, so don't forget your camera!

 

Easter "Begg" Hunt:: 
The Three Dog Bakery hosts its 9th Annual Easter "Begg" Hunt and Bone-it Contest on Saturday, April 8th at Penn Valley Park. The leash free event starts at 9:30 am with over 500 coupons stuffed in 1,200 treat filled eggs and prizes awarded for the top Easter bonnet wearing pups. The canine who finds the golden egg will be treated to 6 months of baked doggie treats. Register at the bakery or the day of the event. The $10 registration fee goes to the Gracie Foundation.

 

Great Easter Eats: 
While there are hundreds of great places to eat Easter Brunch around town, here are some KC faves. The Westin Crown Center offers Easter Brunch at both Benton's Steak and Chop House and The Brasserie Restaurant. Executive Chef Byron Meeks expertly creates over 100 different selections to enjoy. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for an Easter Egg Hunt and plenty of kid friendly activities. The Hotel Phillips downtown offers a scrumptious brunch at it's beautiful Chophouse from 11am-3pm. The Downtown Marriott also serves up a grand feast with a great assortment of food (including a great dessert bar!), live pianist and entertainment for the kids. The Grand Street Cafe also offers a huge Easter brunch with everything from breakfast items and caviar to Easter ham.
